IMPERIAL -- Kenneth Werner, 54, died Friday (Feb. 29, 2008) at Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.
He was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Art "Shorty" and Rose (Oeseau) Werner. He attended school until the eighth grade and self taught himself in auto body work and truck driving.
He married Gwen Robbins on July 1, 1986, in Palestine, Texas. They lived in Palestine until 1993, when they moved to Benkelman. They then moved to Imperial.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patty Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen of Imperial; daughters, Elizabeth McCrumb and husband, James of Imperial and Valarie Werner of Wauneta; sons, Tracy Hamby and wife, Christine of Keene, Texas and Christopher Werner of Woodland, Calif.; sister, Barbara Claus and husband, Joe of Palisade; brothers, David Werner and Arthur Werner and wife, Tammy, all of Palisade; uncle, John Oeseau and wife, Mary of Alma, Wis.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were today at Berean Fundamental Church in Imperial with the Rev. John Engbrecht officiating. Interment followed in the Palisade Cemetery.
