James and Annette Long of Wauneta along with Jon Sparrow of Iowa City, Iowa and Kim York of Shueyville, Iowa are pleased to announce the engagement of their children Julie Long and Jon Sparrow.

Grandmothers of the couple are Violet Long of Wauneta and Violet Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The bride-to-be earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting and management from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. She is an auditor for the Nebraska Department of Revenue.

The prospective bridegroom earned an Associates degree in Ag-Marketing from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is a feedlot manager in Pender.

An April 12, 2008, wedding is planned in Wauneta.
