REXFORD. -- Clyde W. Turrell, 82, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2008) at Logan County Hospital in Oakley, Kan.

He was born Dec. 25, 1925, to Joseph and Avis (Phillips) Turrell in Thomas County, Kan. He grew up on a farm north of Rexford and attended Hopewell School.

He entered the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He married Phyllis Goldsworth on Sept. 30, 1951.

He lived on a farm near Rexford and worked as a farmer. On June 23, 1990, he married Frances Vaughn.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Turrell; son, Clyde Wayne Turrell; son-in-law, Kenneth Campbell; and siblings, Clifford Turrell, Donald Turrell and Blanche Cheney.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Turrell of Colby, Kan.; son, Rick Turrell of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Kathy and husband, Tim Rall of Rexford, Nadene and husband, Larry Zeller of Wamego, Kan., and Connie Campbell of Brownwood, Texas; brother, Billy and wife, Pat Turrell of Colby; sister, Lola Skiles of Colby; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Rexford Community Church in Rexford with the Rev. Lane Purcell officiating. Interment will be in the Rexford Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden and Saturday from 8 a.m., until the time of service at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Rexford EMS.
