JoAnne Morris died Sunday (Feb. 17, 2008) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Nov. 5, 1931, at Lyle, Kan., the daughter of the late David Kenteth and Opal (Witt) Ankenman. She grew up in the Lebanon Community and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1949.
On July 29, 1950, JoAnne married Byron DeWayne Morris at Lebanon and they made Lebanon their lifelong home.
She was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Wednesday afternoon bowling league in McCook, Royal Neighbors and Order of Eastern Star at Lebanon.
She was a loving and devoted farm wife. Her life centered around her husband, her two children and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron on Aug. 31, 1995.
She is survived by her son, Kenteth Morris and his wife, Christine of Oberlin; daughter, Mary Jo Peterson and husband, Roland of Broken Bow; five grandchildren, Julie Laflan and husband, Chris of Greenwood, Mo., David Morris of Hastings, Lindsey Peterson of Lincoln, Scott Peterson of Hastings and Brett Peterson of Broken Bow; relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook, with Dave Irwin officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may sign her register during regular business hours.
