OBERLIN -- Ruby E. Wennihan, 88, died Friday (Feb. 1, 2008) at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Clayton, Kan., to John Martin and Laura Esther (Leichliter) Guy. She grew up and attended school in in the Clayton and Jennings area.

She married Maynard Wennihan on May 23, 1942, in Norton, Kan. She worked as a bookkeeper for Brown Motor Company and was a seamstress for Campbell's Drapery.

She was a member of Oberlin United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of American, American Legion Auxiliary, Lions Club and Widows and Friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Wennihan; parents, John Martin and Laura Guy; brother, Ralph Guy; sisters, Edna Brown, Alta Lynch and Beullah Harris; and a granddaughter, Beth Moran.

Survivors include her daughters, Regina and husband, Wallace Henrickson of Adrian, Mo., and Becky and husband, Gary Alstrom of Oberlin; sister, Opal Rolland of WaKeeney, Kan.; sister-in-law, Mae Guy of Oberlin; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were today at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment followed in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Decatur County Good Samaritan Special Care Unit.
