MEADE, Kan. -- Earl Schneider went to be with his Lord on Jan. 18, 2008 at the District Hospital in Meade, Kan.
Earl was born at Brewster Hospital in Holdrege, Neb., to Dean and Margaret Schneider of Funk, Neb., on Oct. 21, 1941, just a month and a half before the outbreak of World War II. He spent his early years there on the farm.
Earl attended grade school at Axtell Public Schools at Axtell, Neb., through the 8th grade at which time he moved with his mother to Missouri and Kansas and then to California where he completed high school at Huntington Park.
Earl loved music and played the piano wonderfully having taken lessons when he was in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. He spent the last 14 years of his life at the Fowler Nursing Home, Fowler, Kan., where he entertained the guests every day on the piano. He also was a member of the Christian Church in Fowler and was their pianist.
He was precededed in death by his parents, Dean and Margaret Schneider and one brother Robert Dean (Bob).
Survivors include his brothers, David and wife, Barbara of Ripon, Calif., James of Commerce, Calif., Paul and wife, Delores of McCook; sisters, Leonora Rogers of Meade, Kan., and Carolyn Schneider of Lodi, Calif., and a host of nieces and nephews.
The body was cremated and will be interred in Pleasant Hill Cemetary at Axtell, Neb., at a later date beside his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at the Christian Church in Fowler.
