IMCA race track promoters meet in McCook

Area IMCA race track promoters are gearing up for another racing season after a meeting last Saturday in McCook.

Chuck and Janet Gray along with Jim Lewis are local track promoters and were among 11 track officials from Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado planning the 2008 season.

A highlight of the meeting, which was at the Holiday Inn Express in McCook was the presence of vice president of IMCA operations, Brett Root.

Along with Root, Alan Langdale, the central region director was also present.

Track promoters discussed schedules and rules and set tentative dates for the season. The dates will be reviewed by IMCA and then set for the year at a later date.

The meeting is the first of what will possibly become an annual spring event for area promoters and will be held in different locations each year.
