Bison frosh girls improve to 4-2

OGALALLA -- The McCook High School freshman girls basketball team improved its record to 4-2 Thursday night in Ogallala.

The Bison led 20-13 at half en route to a 49-39 win over the Indians. McCook was led by in scoring by Gretchen Sehnert and Jessa Sughroue with 16 points each and Taylor Matson with 10. Sughroue had 11 rebounds, Matson 10 and Sehnert 5.

"We struggled at times to get our legs under us, but late in the game when Ogallala was trying to mount a comeback the girls really stepped up and put the game away," said McCook freshman girls coach Jon Graff. "This was a nice team win for us, the girls all contributed, all played hard.

"Offensively, the girls are starting really attack well. I was very pleased that we scored in the 50-point range for second straight game."
