JENNINGS, Kan. -- H. Claudine Bennett, 84, died Tuesday (Dec. 25, 2007), at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin.
She was born May 17, 1923, at Atlanta, Kan., to Claud and Ruby Lee (Ivy) Wright. She was raised in Atlanta and Oklahoma and graduated from Atlanta High School.
On Aug. 31, 1941, she married F. Ray Bennett at Hays, Kan. She lived in Hays, Denver, Colo., Niagara Falls, N.Y., Russell and Jennings, Kan. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church, Eastern Star No. 108, and was a 4-H leader for the Rock Island Rockets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ray in 2004.
Survivors include three sons, Frank and wife, Karen Bennett of Oberlin, Bill and wife, Luiza Bennett of Key Biscayne, Fla., and Benny and wife, Eileen Bennett of Denver; a sister, Dorothy Less Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; a step-brother, Joe and wife, Fredia Wright of Cheyenne, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at the Jennings United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carrie Buhler officiating. Interment followed at the Jennings Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to the Jennings United Methodist Church.
Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
