HAYES CENTER -- Our son, father, brother, friend and loved one, Scott Alan Loomis, went home Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 43.

He was born Dec. 29, 1963, in McCook, to Jack and Hazel (Ward) Loomis. Scott grew up in rural Hayes County, where he graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1982.

On Oct. 6, 1984, Scott married Kimberly Hastings. To this union five children were born, Nathan Mitchell, Levi Scott, Cassandra Rose, Parker Wayne and Aubriel Renee. They lived in Hayes County until August of 1993, when they made their home in Chadron.

While living in Chadron, Scott and Kim went on to receive their Master's Degree in community counseling. After obtaining this achievement they went on to pursue their careers in counseling.

In 2004, at the Calvery Center in Phoenix, Ariz., Scott renewed his faith and made that the focus of his life. In 2005, Scott made his new home in Hastings, where he met a special friend, Roxie Mulliner, who recently became his fiancee.

Scott had a passion for helping others, music, lawn and garden work and was also an avid Nebraska sports fan, especially football.

Scott is survived by his parents, Jack and Hazel Loomis of McCook; three sons, Nathan and his wife,Krysttina of Gering, Levi Loomis of Chadron and Parker Loomis of Arapahoe; two daughters, Cassandra Loomis of Scottsbluff and Aubriel Loomis of Arapahoe; one grandson, Travis Reed Loomis of Gering; two brothers, Benjie Loomis and wife, Marie and Danny Loomis and wife, Jackie, both of Maywood; along with numerous relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Reed and Lela Loomis Elmer and Jessie Ward.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Hayes Center High School Gymnasium with Rev. Tony Anderson and Rev. Randy Dotkweiler officiating. Interment will be in the Hayes Center Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 7 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook. Family time for sharing will be from 7-9 p.m.
