CULBERTSON -- Jacob Ray Brennan died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, near his home west of Culbertson at the age of 51.
He was born Sept. 3, 1956, at Stratton, Neb., the son of John and Anna Mae (Randall) Brennan. Jacob grew up at Stratton where he graduated from Stratton High School in 1974.
He began working for Kugler Company before working for Miller Manufacturing in Stratton.
On Feb. 29, 1980, Jacob married Gloria Grace Gregor at Trenton, Neb., and they resided at Stratton until moving to rural Culbertson in 1994.
He was a professional over-the-road truck driver for most of his adult life. Since moving to Culbertson he was a self-employed rig welder until the time of his death.
Jacob enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Brennan, father-in-law, Dick Gregor; and brothers, Bill and Joe Brennan.
Jacob is survived by his wife, Gloria Brennan; one daughter, Alissa Erickson and husband, Mike, all of Culbertson, Neb.; one son, Chris Brennan and wife, Tara of North Platte, Neb.; five grandchildren, Michael, Alexandria and Galayna Erickson, Gabrielle and Leah Brennan; his father, John Brennan of Stratton, Neb.; brothers, Bob Brennan and wife, Linda, and Kenny Brennan, all of Stratton, Neb., Buck Brennan and wife, Cookie of Cheyenne, Wyo., Paul Brennan and wife, Betty of Grand Junction, Colo., and Frank Brennan and wife, Kristie of Medicine Bow, Wyo.; sisters, Carol Hanes and husband, Nolan of Trenton, Neb., and Mary Brennan of McCook, Neb., sisters-in-l.aw, Cheryl Brennan of Stratton, Neb., Mary Gregor and Jude Holzer of Omaha, Neb., Carol and Russ Miller of Phoenix, Ariz., and Pat and Paul Lennon of Georgia; brothers-in-law, Ron Gregor and Stephanie Smith of Omaha, Neb.; and Rick and Marcia Gregor of North Carolina; relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be at the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Chapel in Culbertson Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday morning until noon.
