ORLEANS-- Marion A. Culver, 88, died Thursday (Dec. 13, 2007) at his home in rural Stamford.
He was born June 26, 1919, at Orleans, to George and Selma (Clarine) Culver. He attended District 50 school and graduated from Orleans High School in 1936. He started farming with his father and continued farming until retiring in the late 1980s.
On May 31, 1953, he married Helen Smith at the First Christian Church in Beaver City.
He was a member of Stamford Christian Church, serving in different offices. He attended the First Baptist Church in Oxford after the Christian Church in Stamford closed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Orleans; two sons, Robert and wife, Linda Culver and David and wife, Angela Culver, all of Orleans; two sisters, Marjorie Young of Laveen, Ariz., and June and husband, Alfred Frahm of Evansdale, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 1:30 pm., at the First Baptist Church in Oxford with the Revs. Dave Hunt and Murray Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Stamford Cemetery at Stamford.
Viewing and visitation is Saturday and Sunday, 1-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and Monday, prior to services, at the church.
