TRENTON -- Louise Faye Echols died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at El Dorado Nursing Home. She was 92 years old.

She was born on July 20, 1915, in Alva, Okla., to Cyrus Sylvester and Linda Bell (Barney) Steward.

She graduated from high school in Vega, Texas in 1933. She then married William Echols on July 10, 1933 also in Vega.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus and Linda; her husband, William; two sons, Mark and Robert Lee; one daughter in infancy, Blossom; one brother, Earl; and three sisters, Marie McKindry, Opal Arnett, and Louie Lea Hartman.

She is survived by six sons, Paul of Hayes Center, James and wife, Lois of Hayes Center, Aaron and wife, Marion of Alliance, Ohio, Daniel of Pueblo, Colo., Phillip and wife, Mary of Falcon, Colo., and Reuben of Hayes Center; one daughter, Esther Hicks and husband, George of Ontario, Canada; two sisters, Jean Steward of Hayes Center; and Fern Saine of Harrison, Ark.; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Louise was talented in many ways and showed it by her sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She also loved to read. She wrote one book about her husband and had another book finished about her life and family. She loved art and expressed it in some of her drawings and oil paintings.

Funeral services will be at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with James Echols officiating.

Visitation will be prior to service.

There will be visitation at Blunt Mortuary, Colorado Springs, Colo., from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 6, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
