Ella Mae Riepe

ARAPAHOE -- Ella Mae Riepe, 92, of Arapahoe died Sunday (Nov. 25, 2007) at Good Samaritan Society in Arapahoe.

She was born Oct. 11, 1915, at Hannibal, Mo., to Charles E. and Edith (Bowen) Fletcher. She moved with her family to Peoria, Ill., before moving to Edison. She married Harry Riepe on March 21, 1934. They made their home on a farm south of Arapahoe and farmed for several years. In 1952, they moved to Arapahoe and then to Sunshine Village of Arapahoe. Harry died in 1994. In July of 2007, she moved to Good Samaritan Society in Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Riepe; son, Delbert Riepe; daughter, Coleen Yeager; sisters, Thelma Riepe and Bernice Jones; brother, Ciebert Fletcher; two sons-in-law, Frank Hinz and LeRoy VonLoh; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson in infancy.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne and wife, Brenda Riepe of Palmdale, Calif., and James and wife, Karin Riepe of Englewood, Colo.; daughters, Edith Hinz of Arapahoe, Dorothy and husband, Norman Huxoll of Holbrook and Della Mae VonLoh of Arapahoe; son-in-law, Don Yeager of Louisville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Interment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to services on Saturday at the church.
