Bison 7th grade girls basketball team ends season

The McCook Junior High School seventh grade girls basketball team finished up the season Nov. 20.

Here is a roundup of games since Nov. 8.

Nov. 8

McCook vs. Ogallala

"The girls played very aggresively on both ends of the court," said coach Michelle Reiners. "They played well especially on the defensive end as they caused many turnovers which gave the offense opportunities to score."

"The girls played especially well on the defensive end," Reiners said. "Our guards had several steals in all three games. Offensively the girls did a good job feeding our posts the ball and taking good outside shots by the guards."

The girls didn't handle the ball as well as they had in the last two games," Reiners said. "Gothenburg's defensive pressure set the tone in all three games. Our point guards had trouble finding open guards on their entry passes, which made it difficult to run the offense effectively.

"Overall the girls had a great year and improved consistently throughout the season."
