ARAPAHOE -- Betty M. Arrington, 85, formerly of Bartley, died Friday (Nov. 23, 2007) at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center Nursing Home in Arapahoe.

She was born March 8, 1922, at Bartley, to James and Lydia M. (Arbogast) Fletcher. She was raised in Bartley and graduated from Bartley High School. She moved to Seattle, Wash., where she worked for Boeing Aircraft for several years.

She married George Arrington in 1941, while he served in the U.S. Army. They lived in Bartley in the 1950s.They moved to Littleton, Colo., and then returned to Bartley in 1959. She worked for Board of Reclamation in McCook for several years. and for TRW in McCook in the mid 1960s until it closed.

She then moved to Texas, where she remained until returning to Bartley. George died May 8, 1987. She then moved to C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center Nursing Home in Arapahoe on June 11, 2003.

She attended Bartley Christian Church and was a past member of Ladies Club in Bartley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and two sons, Dane and Bruce.

Survivors include her daughter, Georgia and husband, LaVerne Maret of Beaver City, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, 2 .m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with the Rev. Phil Olsen of First Christian Church of Beaver City officiating.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 - 10 a.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City.
