ATWOOD -- Lorna Elaine Holle Holste, 77, died Monday (Nov. 19, 2007), at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.
She was born Dec. 20, 1929, on the family farm near Ludell, to Rennig H. and Frieda E. Rippe Holle. She attended elementary school at Immanuel Lutheran in Ludell, graduated from Atwood Community High School in 1947, and received her degree from Kansas State Teachers College Emporium in May 1951.
On June 8, 1951, she married Gerhard Henry Holste. She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper at the Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Women's Missionary League, New Horizons FCE, a former member of the Redeemer choir, an AAL Lamplighter, a former member of Grace Lutheran Church and a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Atwood.
Survivors include her husband, Gerhard of Atwood; their children, Cindy and husband, Dan Belchley of Littleton, Colo., Sylvia and husband, Marc Walker of Atwood, Loretta and husband, Rob McFee of Oberlin, Harlan and wife, Ruth Holste of Ludell, Lois and husband, Butch Schartz of Ellis, Kan., and Marilyn Holste and Bill Fehringer of Sterling, Colo.; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, 1:30 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Ludell.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m., and Friday, 9-11 a.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Atwood. Visitation will continue after noon until the time of the service at the church. There will be no visitation Thursday as the funeral home will be closed.
Memorial may be made to Rawlins County Health Center-Cardiac Rehab, Atwood Second Century Fund or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
