OBERLIN -- Alice Fiala, 96, died Saturday (Nov. 17, 2007) at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in rural Ludell in Rawlins County, to Charles and Augusta Janousek. She grew up on a farm east of Ludell and attended Pitner School.
She lived in Denver, Colo., from 1960 to 1964, before returning to Oberlin. She married John J. Fiala on March 11, 1936, in Oberlin. She worked as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John on July 31, 1993; son, Clifford Fiala on Jan. 10, 2006; parents, Charles and Augusta Janousek; brother, Herman Janousek; and sister, Agnes Fiala.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Clois Fiala of Colorado Springs, Colo., three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with Mr. James Jennings officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 23, from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Saturday after 8 a.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name.
