NORTH PLATTE -- Frank Lee Barta, 70, died Thursday, (Nov. 1, 2007) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born Jan. 27, 1937, at Eddyville, to Mike George and Eva (Warner) Barta. He was born disabled, but loved to help around the farm doing chores, milking cows, hauling hay and picking corn.

He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on June 26, 1955, at Callaway.

He lived for many years in McCook at Southwest Area Training Services and worked in the workshop. He moved to North Platte in 2000, where he lived and worked at the Developmental Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Edward and Chester in infancy; and one sister, Martha.

Survivors include four brothers, Francis "Fritz" Barta of Oregon and Don, Harmon and Lloyd Barta, all of Lexington; four sisters, Edna Dewey of Lexington, Dorothy Linder of Cozad, Leora Esslinger of Greeley, Colo., and Mildred Stiner of Cozad; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with the Rev. Michael Gruhn officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Donor's Choice.
