John Barry Williams, died Thursday (Nov. 1, 2007) upon arrival at Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 55.
He was born Nov. 7, 1951, in McCook, the son of the late John B. and Evelyn "Billie" (Olmsted) Williams. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1969, and from McCook Junior College in 1971.
On June 21, 2000, he married Dorothy "Dixie" Wilson at Colorado Springs, Colo. John was employed by SRC Computers as a super computer circuit board designer. John and his family moved to McCook in 2004.
John enjoyed many activities. He was a vendor at Renaissance festivals at Lark Spur, Colo., of swords, knives and jewelry. He had hobbies of collecting comics and collectibles. He was active with his family and never missed a school play or concert and loved nature and animals.
He loved Disneyland and was a loving husband, who was always available for his friends. He loved his hometown of McCook.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Sonja.
John enjoyed B movies and will be missed by all.
John is survived by his wife, Dixie Wilson-Williams of McCook; two sons, Ares Morpheus Williams and wife, Ann of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Jack Curtis Williams of Medford, Ore.; and daughter, Janelle Rose Williams of McCook.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Sunday at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook, with Rev. R. Samuel Williams officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may sign his register at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook on Saturday.
