CORTEZ, Colo. -- Lois (Henze) Lusk, 87, died Tuesday (Oct.9, 2007).
She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Palisade, to Elmer and Bessie Henze. She grew up during the Great Depression on a farm outside of Palisade. Upon graduating from high school in 1936, she moved to Denver, Colo., to attend the Bonnie School of Beauty Culture and received her beautician's license.
She married Fred Lusk, her husband of 43 years. She was a homemaker. Except for short stays in California and Minnesota, she lived nearly her entire adult life in the Denver area. In 1961, they became two of the first residents to live in the new suburban community of Northglenn, Colo.
In April 2005, after living in Northglenn for 44 years, she moved to Cortez, Colo., where she spent her remaining years at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Residence.
She was a lifelong member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, wa a founding member of the Northglenn Garden Club and was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and all three siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Strange and husband, Walter of Northglenn and one grandson.
