CULBERTSON -- Irva Leanna Butherus died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, Neb., at the age of 78.

She was born Nov. 29, 1928, at Culbertson, Neb., the daughter of the late Frank D. and Polly (Fahrenbruch) Wagner. Irva grew up at Culbertson where she graduated from Culbertson High School in 1946.

On Dec. 29, 1946, Irva married George Butherus at Culberston and they spent over 56 years farming in the Culbertson community.

She moved to El Dorado Manor in November 2006.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson, the United Methodist Women, the Federated Women's Club and for many years was a Pink Lady at McCook Community Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Francis Wagner.

Irva is survived by her husband, George Butherus of Culbertson, Neb.; five daughters, Patricia Welch and husband, Ben of Kearney, Neb., Dianna Korell and husband, Brad of Lincoln, Neb., Susan Ihrig and husband, Bob of Denver, Colo., Marcia Spady and husband, Karl and Barbara Cooper and husband, Mike, all of Fort Collins, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Wagner of Columbia, Mo., and Paul Wagner and wife, Karen of Fort Collins, Colo.; relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Chapel in Culbertson from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., today. The family will be receiving friends from 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home on this evening.
