Malinda Maria Niemeier, 87, died Tuesday (Oct. 2, 2007) at C. A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.

She was born Oct. 8, 1919, north of Arapahoe, to Ernest and Minnie (Mues) Niemeier. She was raised on the family farm north of Arapahoe in Furnas County and attended St. Matthews Parochial School in Holbrook.

After her schooling, she lived in Holbrook and worked as a cook at the Cambridge (Minnick's) Hospital and C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe. She moved to Sunshine Village in Arapahoe and in August of 2007, moved to C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Mission and Golden Age Group of Arapahoe and Golden Age Bible Study of Holbrook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herman and Walter Niemeier; sisters, Sophia Mock and Louise Lemmon; sisters-in-law, Sophia and Alice Niemeier; and brothers-in-law, Arthur Mock and Raymond Lemmon.

Survivors include her brother, Clarence and wife, Norma, special friend, Deb Helms of Holbrook and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Interment will be at St. Matthews Cemetery in rural Holbrook.

Visitation will be Friday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe.

Memorials may be given to C. A. Mues Good Samaritan Center and Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.

Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe is in charge of arrangements.
