OBERLIN -- Mildred L. Grafel, 85, died Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2007), in Oberlin.

She was born March 21, 1922, in rural Herndon, to Gustan and Theresia (Leitner) Wudtke. She was raised in the Herndon area and attended Herndon grade and high school and completed Normal Training for a teaching certificate.

On June 19, 1941, she married John W. Grafel. She was a homemaker and was a member of Immanuel Church in Herndon, the Cardinals 4-H, Church Board, and Women's Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Louise Hawley, Mabel Ross and Bertha Galusha; and a grandson, Randy Lee Weber.

Survivors include her son, JR and wife, Phyllis Grafel of Herndon; a daughter, Bonnie and husband, Randy Weber of Gilbert, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Dale Sallans officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel Cemetery in Herndon.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Living Center.
