Amy Kunkee and Kenton Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Jean Kunkee of McCook and the late Ray Kunkee, John and Sandy Weigel of Oberlin and Cary and Sharon Smith of Venice, Fla.

The bride-to-be is a McCook High School graduate and received her Associate of Science degree in Cardiovascular Invasive Technology from Bryan LGH School of Allied Health Science in Lincoln. She is employed with Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

The prospective bridegroom received his bachelor of performance in percussion degree from Fort Hayes State University in Hays, Kan. He is employed as a chef.

A Sept. 29, 2007, wedding ceremony is planned at St. John Lutheran Church in rural McCook.
