HENDLEY?-- Harold Brakhahn, 80, of Hendley died Wednesday (Aug. 29, 2007) at Good Samaritan Hospital at Kearney.

He was born July 7, 1927, at Holbrook to Christian and Frida (Mull) Brakhahn. He grew up in Hendley, attending District 56 and Hendley High School.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

On June 10, 1951, he married Clarabelle Steinke at Beaver City. They farmed in Iowa for three years and returned to the Hendley and Holbrook area where they farmed until retirement.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe and DAV in Holdrege.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Lloyd; a daughter-in-law, Zona; and a great-granddaughter, Logan Brakhahn.

Survivors include his wife, Clarabelle Brakhahn of Hendley; four sons, Doug Brakhahn and wife, Sheila of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gray Brakhahn and wife, Jenny of Arapahoe, Ken Brakhahn of Hendley, and Randy Brakhahn and wife, Pam of Kearney; a daughter, Patty and husband, Kurt Stradley of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City with military honors provided by Veterans Organizations of Beaver City.

Viewing and visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and Saturday prior to the service.
