BIRD CITY -- Harold "Bud" Everett Cress, 83, died Tuesday (Aug. 21, 2007) at Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colo.

He was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Cheyenne County, Kan. He married Corrine Holscher, she preceded him in death on 1989. He worked as a farmer and served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine.

Survivors include his son, Doug of Sterling, Colo.; daughter, Denise Andrist of St. Francis; sister, Marie Kowalke of Wray, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Bird City. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery with the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m., at Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis.

Memorials may be given to the Bud Cress Memorial Fund.
