LINCOLN -- Former Hastings resident, Carol Lee Ewing, 63, of Lincoln, Neb., died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at BryanLGH West, Lincoln.
Memorial service will be Thursday, July 26, 2007; 2 p.m., at Butler-Volland Chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Neb. Book signing will be today, 1-9 p.m., and Thursday, at 9 a.m., and continuing until service time. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to www.lbvfh.com. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Ewing was born Aug. 29, 1943, in Portage LaPrairie Manitoba, Canada to Wilbur and Cora (Haight) Bonar. She graduated from McCook High School, McCook, Neb., in 1961. In 1961, she married John Perkins in McCook, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Lincoln School of Commerce, now Hamilton College. She lived in McCook, then Hastings and resided in Lincoln at the time of her death. She was a travel agent in Lincoln. She was an avid reader and loved to play bridge, crossword puzzles and sudoku.
Ms. Ewing was preceded in death by her parents, one niece and a sister, Gail Howard.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kirsten Perkins and fiancÚ, Miles Vasko of Lincoln and Michelle Bagy of Hawthorne, Nev.; a son, Michael Perkins of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Darrell and wife, Honey Lou Bonar of Hastings; sisters, Judy and Gary Stutesman of Roseland, Neb., and Shirley and Bob Butz of Holdrege, Neb.; five grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
