WRAY, Colo. -- Margaret Cecelia Shirley was born to Thomas Clarence and Isabell Shirley in Frontier County near Freedom, Neb., on June 26, 1922.
Margaret passed away on July 14, 2007.
She grew up near Stockville, Neb., with her four brothers and a sister, Margaret being the oldest. She graduated from high school in McCook in 1941.
She married Gerald Lee Boner on March 2, 1948, and born to this union were four daughters, Judith Ann, Barbara Jean, Mary Lou and Betty Jo.
Margaret and her husband farmed near McCook and Palisade, Neb., and then moved to Trenton, Neb., and resided there until Marge moved to Wray in 1994.
She enjoyed family gatherings and socializing. Her love of gardening she shared with her husband and daughters. Marge could never let a stray animal go hungry.
One of her most remarkable features was her smile which she shared with everyone.
She was known as Mom, little Margie, little Grandma and little sweet pea, but little is a word that described only her small stature, not her heartfelt kindness.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Judith Ann, husband, Jerry, parents, Thomas and Isabell Shirley and brother, James.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara Ann and husband Jim Delcamp, Mary Lou and husband, Bob Gee and Betty and husband, Pete Wilson; grandchildren, Tammy and Robert Carlson, Belinda Delcamp, and Hattie and Colby Wilson; brothers, Bill and wife, Vera Shirley, Tom Shirley and Bob and wife, Jean Shirley; a sister, Mary Ann and Johnnie Norgaard; and many nephews and nieces.
