Darlene D. Sheneman

Nov. 11, 1929 - July 19, 2007

BEAVER CITY -- Darlene D. Sheneman, age 77, of Beaver City, died Thursday July 19, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at Friendship Center Church in Beaver City. Rev. Bonnie Perkins will officiate.

No Visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Friendship Church in Beaver City.

Darlene was born Nov. 11, 1929, on a farm South of Edison, to Oris and Elsie (McCarty) Cozad. She grew up in Beaver City and graduated with the class of 1947.

Darlene married Lawrence A. Sheneman on June 12, 1948, at Oxford. They made their home in Oxford and also Holdrege until 1958. They then moved to Loveland, Colo., and also lived in Estes Park, Colo.

Darlene worked in Loveland at J.M. McDonald clothing store, Mocks shoe store and also the Lego toy factory. In 1970, she and her husband moved to Beaver City where she was employed at the Alpo factory and at the Beaver City town office until her retirement.

Darlene was a charter member of Friendship Center Church of Beaver City where she loved teaching children.

Surviving relatives, husband, Lawrence Sheneman of Beaver City; daughter, Darla Mae Bragaw of Haleiwa, Hawaii; son, Dale Sheneman of Oxford; son-in-law, Jim Bragaw of Haleiwa, Hawaii; daughter-in-law, Sue Sheneman of Oxford; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
