LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Terry Carl Huff, 63, died Saturday (July 7, 2007) at Hospice of St. John in Lakewood, Colo.
He was born June 5, 1944, in McCook to Robert and Agnes (Carter) Huff. He grew up in McCook, where he graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1962. He graduated from McCook Junior College in 1964 and Colorado School of Mines at Golden.
On June 2, 1964, he entered the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War. On Dec. 29, 1971, he married Elaine Hayes at McCook. They lived in Denver, Colo., for the past 27 years, where he was a petroleum engineer for Getty Oil and Murphy Oil Companies. He retired in 2005.
He was preceded in death by his two step-sons, Jay Seger in 1962 and Darryl Seger in 1978 and a brother, Robert Lee Huff.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Lakewood, Colo.; seven step-children, Jamison Seger, Elana Seger, Pamela Laidley and husband, Robert, Christina Seger, Sabrina Schlegel and husband, Michael, Viola Sehlelgel and husband, Ned and Sidney Seger and wife, Lelsie; one sister, Marilyn Augustyn and husband, Charles of Lincoln; 14 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Interment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call the funeral home.
