Marissa Smith of Lincoln and Brett Lindau of Aurora, Ill., announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

Parents of the couple are Dave and Jan Smith of McCook and Jim and Marcia Lindau of Axtell.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of McCook High School and received a Diploma in nursing from Bryan College of Health Sciences and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She works as an Oncology Nurse at BryanLGH West in Lincoln.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Axtell High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is a third year medical student at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill.

An Oct. 6, 2007 wedding ceremony is being planned in Berean Church in Lincoln.
