Michael Richard Vigneur, 67, died Thursday (June 28, 2007), at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1939, to Wilfred and Bessie (Monru) Vigneur at Waltham, Massachusetts.
On Dec. 31, 1959, he married Lois M. Strickland in Aurora, Colo. They made their home in Colorado where Michael worked for Komac Paint Stores until 1986 when he had to retire due to medical reasons. He also drove a truck for the Scholastic Book Fair for three years. Besides raising their own children, he and his wife were foster parents for 27 years to 350 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Bessie Vigneur.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Vigneur of McCook; four daughters, Debra and husband, Thomas Sell, Abbey Vigneur, and Jennifer McQuistan, all of McCook and Sarah and husband, Fermin Rocha, of Denver, Colo.; three sons, James Vigneur and wife, Kathy, of Thornton, Colo., David Vigneur and wife, Kerri, of McCook and Nicholas Vigneur and wife, Tracy, of Fort Leonardwood, Mo; one sister, Jeanne Barrker of Denver; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with the Rev. Jon Albrecht officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday 9 a.m.-noon and Monday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
