McCook Rebels 16 squad drops two to North Platte

The McCook Rebels 16 and under girls fastpitch softball team lost two games to the North Platte Belles Thursday night at the Jaycee Sports Complex.

McCook lost to North Platte Belles 9-1 in the first game and 5-2 in five innings in the second game.

North Platte led off the first game with two singles and a triple to take a three-run lead in the first inning.

The Belles added five runs in the last inning to put the game out of reach.

Katie Douglas was 2 for 3 with two singles and a stolen base.

Jordan Pick was 1 for 1 with a single, was hit by a pitch and added two stolen bases.

Kelsey Berry had one walk, one run scored and one stolen base.

Pick pitched a complete game but took the loss.

She allowed nine runs on six hits, four walks, one hit batter and struck out three

In the second game, the winning run scored on a bunt going down the first base line with a putout at first base while the run scored.

Douglas was 1 for 2 with a triple, one RBI and scored one run.

Berry was 1 for 2 with a double. Alyssa Smith was 1 for 2 with a single.

Alyssa Mohr was 1 for 1 with single and stolen base. Katie Hoffmaster had a walk and run scored.

Douglas had a majority of the pitching duties, allowing two runs on three hits, six walks with six strikeouts.

Pick was on the mound for one run, one strikeout and a sacrifice during the final inning.
