ATWOOD -- Janice?L. Focke, 70, died Sunday (June 17, 2007) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.
She was born to John Jr. and Anna (Wicke) Focke on May 9, 1937, in Atwood. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on May 30, 1937, and was confirmed on March 18, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She grew up on the family farm north of Ludell and later lived in Atwood. She received her GED in 1972.
She owned and operated the Fabric Yard in Atwood with friend, Uma Neuhart. She was also an Avon representative.
She was a member of the L.W.M.L., Red Hat Ladies Society and was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Home for Hair Care and other activities.
Survivors include her sisters, Betty and husband, Bern Suhr of Euless, Texas, Mary Ann and husband, Marvin Holle and Carol and husband, Fran Hestermann, all of Ludell; nine nephews and nieces; and 14 great-nephews and nieces.
Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. Interment will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be given in her name to Rawlins County Health Center and the Atwood Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
