CURTIS --?Doris Marion Snyder died Friday (June 8, 2007) at the Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis, at the age of 85.

She was born April 8, 1922, at Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of the late Carl C. and Laurabelle (Foster) Doolittle. She grew up in Des Moines where she graduated from Des Moines High School East in 1940. She attended college at Wessington Springs, S.D.

On June 13, 1959, Doris married Stanley Jay Snyder at the Garden Prairie Methodist Church in Frontier County. They spent their married lives farming south of Garden Prairie. She was a member of the Garden Prairie United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. and was church organist from 1975 until 2000. She was a member of the Garden Prairie Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley on July 31, 2002, brothers, Floyd and Eddie Doolitle and an infant sister, Mildred Doolittle, Margaret Noland and Martha Mardis.

Doris is survived by one son, Gary Snyder and fiancee, Deanna Neises of McCook; one granddaughter, Madison Snyder of McCook; three sisters, Ruth Davis and Mary and husband, Dr. Lawrence Bauer, all of Kearney and Laura Hanson and husband, Robert of Phoenix, Ariz.; relatives; and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating, Interment will be in the Maywood Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
