CAMBRIDGE -- Richard Vaughn Minnick, 84, died Thursday (June 7, 2007) in Cambridge.
He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Cambridge, to Richard D. and Alice (Capp) Minnick.
He married Darlene Lyons on Dec 21.1947.
He owned and was a part of Minnick Hardware in Cambridge for more than 40 years. He served on the Cambridge City Council, the Cambridge Museum Board, the Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene; and a brother Edwin Minnick.
Survivors include a son Bill and wife, Nancy of Cambridge; two daughters Vicki and husband, Jim Christo of Lincoln and Gay Lynn and husband, Gaylen Baker of Omaha.; two sisters, Mary Miles Scott of Thornton, Colo., and Rhonda Whitehead and husband, Lauris of Bothell Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge. The Rev. David Rowe will officiate. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.
Memorials may be left in his name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.
