EL DORADO, Kan. -- Joseph John Ozanne, age 38, of El Dorado, Kansas passed away on June 3, 2007, at his home.
John was born Oct. 16, 1968, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Johnnie Lewis and Pamela Ozanne. Joe was a very special man because he never let you forget him. He befriended everyone regardless of who you were.
Joe knew no prejudice and often just wanted to talk with whoever he could. He had a passion for food, animals, handshaking and taking long walks. He would walk anywhere and everywhere. If you couldn't find him, everyone knew he was just taking a walk and would return when he was ready. He was very unique and spent his life collecting "treasures".
Joe worked at the Work Training Program at Flint Hills in El Dorado, Kan.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lewis; brother, Joshua John; paternal grandparents; and uncle.
Survivors include his mother, Pamela; two brothers, Johnnie and Michael of Wichita, Kan.; two nieces, Samantha and Katie; one nephew, Jeffrey; grandparents, John and Bernadetta Sis of Indianola; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rosary is today at 7:30 p.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Thursday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Witt officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in McCook.
Memorials may be addressed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and left at Herrmann Funeral Home.
