CURTIS -- Gregory Garrett Vreeland, 53, died (May 25, 2007) in Curtis.

He was born Nov. 29, 1953, at Kearney to Nelson Eugene Jr. Vreeland and Mary Lou (Florom) Vreeland. He grew up and attended school in Curtis. He graduated from Medicine Valley High School in 1972.

He enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1974. He worked as a Railroad Conductor, was a liquor store owner, and most recently was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. He earned a degree in Nuclear Medicine in Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1990. He lived and worked in Santa Barbara, Calif.; Honolulu, Hawaii; St. Thomas and Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson E. Vreeland, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Vreeland of Curtis; two brothers, Kirk Vreeland of Kansas City, Mo.; Mark and wife, Barb Vreeland of Keller, Texas; four sisters, LaDonna and husband, Jerry Sundquist of Curtis, Deb Vreeland of Omaha, Kelly and husband, Randy Peterson of Amherst and Denise and husband, Jerry Wilcox of Curtis; two half sisters, Vicky Vreeland of Redmond, Wash., and Candy Vreeland of Palm Springs, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Curtis, with the Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in the Curtis Cemetery.
