OBERLIN -- Irel Lohoefener, 89, died Sunday (May 13, 2007) in Oberlin.

She was born Aug. 19. 1917, in Oberlin, to Clarence and Florence (Nitcher) Muller. She was raised near Kearney and Oberlin. She attended school in Olive Branch near Newark, Fort Kearney near Kearney and Addleman near Oberlin.

On June 6, 1937, she married Harold Lohoefener in Oberlin. They lived in Dresden, Kan., before moving to a farm near Oberlin. They later moved into Oberlin. She worked as a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Church, Monday Evening Club, ABC of Farm Bureau and Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Florence Muller; husband, Harold on June 15, 1994; brother, Darrell Muller; and sister, Donalee Muller.

Survivors include her son, Jerry and Marcia Lohoefener of Oberlin; sister, Delores and husband, Royce Patton of Salina, Kan.; sister-in-law, Veda Muller of Rangely, Colo.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment will be in Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m., until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the United Church of Oberlin.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
