Chase County girls track team rolls to title at E. Lee Todd meet

GRANT -- Chase County's girls won the E. Lee Todd Memorial track and field meet in Grant Tuesday. Ogallala won on the boys side with the Longhorns following in second.

Perkins County's girls took third, Ogallala was fourth and Southwest took fourth.

Hershey rounded out the top five, Wauneta-Palisade's girls were sixth and Garden County was seventh. Chase County JV finished eighth Ogallala JV was ninth and Perkins County JV was tenth.

Perkins County followed Chase County's boy in third, Hershey was fourth and Wauneta-Palisade took fifth. Southwest finished in sixth, Perkins County JV was seventh and Garden County was eighth.

Cara Kunnemann and Erica Pirog led the Chase County girls.

Kunnemann won both the 800 and 3200 and Pirog took the 100 and posted a new record in the 300 meter hurdles at 48.40 seconds.

The Longhorns also won the 4x400 relay and the powder puff relay.

The boys won the 4x400 and 4x800 for Chase County. Mathew May and Brett Gooden both earned first place medals for the Longhorn boys in the 800 and 400.

May posted a new record in the 400 running the dash in 49.80.
