CAMBRIDGE -- David C. Postler, 71, died Thursday (March 29, 2007), at his home in Cambridge.

He was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Norwich, Conn., to Carl and Vera (Johnson) Postler. He graduated from high school in Norwich.

In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, was sent to Camp Pendleton for basic training then served 18 months in Korea. After a three-year enlistment he remained in California.

On June 15, 1957, he married Antonette (Ann) Patelli at St. Finbar Church in Burbank, Calif.

He was employed by Lockheed for 12 years as a security officer.  He and Ann later formed a company called AV West, Inc, which was a news agency in Antelope Valley, Calif., that they operated for 26 years.  In 2004, they purchased a home in Cambridge, and moved to Cambridge in 2005, where they retired.

He was a Jehovah Witnesses and a member of the Kingdom Hall of McCook.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Ann of Cambridge; one daughter: Margaret and husband, Todd Comi of Lancaster, Calif.; three sons, David Postler of Reno, Nev., and Anthony and Timothy Postler both of Lancaster; two sisters, Roberta and Sandra, both of Norwich; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services are tentatively set for Tuesday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m., at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Jim Housh officiating. A private family inurnment is being planned.

Memorials may be left in his name to the Butler Memorial Library in Cambridge.
