ARAPAHOE?-- Otto George Haussler, 97, died Monday (March 5, 2007) at the Cozad Community Hospital.

He was born July 22, 1909, north of Holbrook, to Carl and Mary (Huxoll) Haussler, He grew up on the family farm north of Holbrook.

On May 4, 1930, he married Josie Fay Cross at St. Matthews Lutheran Church of rural Holbrook. They were the first couple to be married in the St. Matthews Church.

They made their home on the farm north of Holbrook. They farmed for 60 years before, retiring and moving to Arapahoe. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2003.

He was a member of St. Matthews Church and then transferred his membership to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josie Fay Haussler; son, Bernard Haussler; daughter-in-law, Carol Haussler; granddaughter, Audrey Haussler; and great-granddaughter, Kristina Haussler.

Survivors include his four grandchildren, Susan Henry, Charles Haussler, Jolene and husband, Bill Soncksen and Tammy and husband, Zane Hoselton; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Burial will be in the Holbrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the services at the church on Friday.
