NORTON, Kan. -- Katherine "Nan" Ann Cook, 76, died Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) in rural Norton County, Kan.
She was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Palisade to Lloyd Vance and Thelma Sterns. She grew up in Phillipsburg, Kan., and attend school there.
She married Paul Cook in 1965. She lived in many places throughout the United States before moving to Norcatur, Kan. She worked as a waitress and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cook; parents, Lloyd and Thelma (Sterns) Vance; son, Patrick Cook; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Mike and wife Ruby Cook of Clayton, Kan., Whitey and wife, "Nit" Cook of Newalla, Okla.; Brian and and wife, Tami Cook of Norcatur, Kan., Terry Cook of Norton, Kan., and Topper and wife, Nikki Cook of Clayton, Kan.; two daughters, Lonnie Wentz and husband, Carl of Boise, Idaho and Kathy Watson and husband, Steve of Nokesville, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin. Inurnment will be in the Norcatur Cemetery.
There is no visitation.
Memorials may be given to the Katherine Cook Memorial Fund.
