MCDONALD, Kan. -- Norman L. McIntosh, 72, died Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.
He was born Sept. 12, 1934, at Hays, Kan., to Frank Herman and Beulah Elvira (Slaughter) McIntosh. He graduated from Hays Junior High School May 26, 1949, from Hays High School in May of 1952, and from Fort Hays University in May 1961.
He was united in marriage to Iris Miller on Aug. 2, 1959. at Hays, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from Dec. 4, 1953 until Dec. 3, 1955, with an honorable discharge.
He was a volunteer for 4H and was a member of the Jefferson County Fair Board in Golden, Colo., the SmartSkyways and was involved in the Republican party. He was also president of the Festival of the West for 14 years.
He was a municipal bond trader In the 1960's and worked at Gates Rubber Company before starting Villa Parcel Service and was also involved with McIntosh Distributing.
He was preceded In death by his parents and an infant sister, Norma Jean.
Survivors Include his wife, Iris of McDonald; two children; Nancy Elizabeth Pallozzi and husband, David Jr. of Lakewood, Colo., and David Phillip McIntosh and wife, Julie of Lakewood, Colo.; siblings, Judy Vante of Portland, Ore., Edd McIntosh of Juneau, Alaska, Fred McIntosh of Hays, Kan., and Janet McIntosh of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one grandson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood with Rev. Don Martin of Colby, Kan., officiating. Interment will be in Grace Cemetery in McDonald, Kan.
Memorials may be addressed in his name to the McDonald Ambulance Fund, McDonald Senior Center or the Donor's choice.
