TRENTON -- Berniece Evelyn Buzzell died Monday (Feb. 19, 2007) at the El Dorado Manor Home in Trenton at the age of 94.
She was born July 18, 1912, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Benhard and Eva (Spoor) Post, Berniece grew up at Hastings where she received her education.
On Oct. 16, 1933, Berniece married Elmer M. Jess Buzzell. They made their home at Hastings for 10 years before moving to Culbertson in 1943. They farmed until moving to Culbertson in 1950, where they eventually retired.
She enjoyed her crafts, gardening and dogs and cats, visiting with company and was always happy to share all that she had. She loved being outside in warmer months and was always fixing something.
She was preceded in death by her husband "Jess" on July 3, 1993. She moved to Cambridge in early 2006, and later to El Dorado Manor in Novemer 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold Post; a half brother, Dale Buckhold; one sister, Viola Prochaska; and daughter-in-law, Patricia (Pat) Buzzell on Jan. 31, 1997,
Berniece is survived by one son, Eudean Buzzell of Culbertson; one daughter, Melva Hinz and husband, Alvin of McCook; five grandchildren, Janie Hilker and husband, Mark, Ricky Hinz, Helen Hinz, Eric Buzzell and wife, Norma, and Lisa Coleman; seven great-grandchildren, Shalene Hinz, Lance Hilker, Taran Hilker, Kallie Hilker, Devon Coleman, Jordan Coleman, and Skyylar Coleman, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson, with Rev. Brad Rick officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Hermann Funeral Home in McCook from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
