Hannah Grace (Baumfalk)?Hein, 97, died Thursday (Feb. 8, 2007), at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Dec. 17, 1909, at Culbertson to Henry Walter and Anna Frieda (Volrath)?Pollmann. She grew up in Culbertson and attended Culbertson High School.
On Aug. 25, 1931, she married Alvin L. Baumfalk at Atwood. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1943.
On Sept. 19, 1944, she married Harry Hein at Culbertson. They farmed in the Culbertson community until moving to McCook in 1984. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2001.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was baptized by her German name of Johanna Gretine on March 28, 1910.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four brothers, Earl Pollmann, Henry Pollmann, Walter Pollmann and John Pollmann; three sisters, Anna Lundberry, Minnie Naugle and Emma Walker; and one granddaughter, Lori (Baumfalk) Hoff.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan and husband, Gary Mills of McCook and Janice Kraus of Ogallala; four sons, Kenneth Baumfalk, Eugene and wife, Cleta Baumfalk, Gerald and wife, Barbara Hein and Robert and wife, Jan Hein, all of McCook; two sisters, Christine Relph and Louise Coburn, both of McCook; two sisters-in-law, Louise Pollmann and Opal Tincher, also of McCook; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Brad Rick officiating. Interment will be at the Culbertson Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
