ATWOOD -- Francis H. Bohme, 78, died Friday (Feb. 2, 2007) at Atwood.
He was born Jan. 16, 1929, to Henry Otto Carl Sr. and Olivia Letitia (Taylor) Bohme on the family farm in Rawlins County. He serviced in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for 21 months.
He married Dorothy Helen Lake on June 11, 1953. She preceded him in death in 1998. He worked as a farmer. He lived on the family farm in Rawlins County until moving to Atwood in 1992. He became a resident of the Atwood Good Samaritan Center in 2005.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus both of Atwood and the VFW in Colby, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; one son, John; a grandson, Bobby Baumer; one brother; and three sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Chuck Bohme of Goodland, Kan., Kenny Bohme and wife, Janice of Atwood and Dan Bohme and wife, Gina of Atwood; four daughters, Anita Baumer and husband, Bob of Emporia, Kan., Tish Hollingsworth and husband, Brad of McPherson, Kan., Donna Most and husband, Randy of Ludell, Kan., and Doreen Mitchell of Great Bend, Kan.; special friend, Linda Griffin; 14 grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, with the Rev. Galen Long officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atwood.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Atwood, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m.
