ELWOOD -- Donald Michael LeDuke, 67, died Thursday (Jan. 25, 2007), at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
He was born Oct. 17, 1939, at Woonsocket, R.I., to Michael and Ella (Ruhr) LeDuke. He graduated from Burrillville High School in Burrillville, R.I.
After high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from June 29, 1957-April 5, 1959. He served in the reserves until 1963.
He worked in the New England States as a steeplejack for many years.
On Jan. 1, 1972, he married Katharine Elaine Claus at West Palm Beach, Fla. In March of 1984, they moved to Elwood, moving to Illinois in 1990 and returning to the Elwood and Smithfield area in September 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott LeDuke; a step-son, Keith Auz; and a brother-in-law John Claus.
Survivors include his wife, Katharine LeDuke of Elwood; a son, Michael LeDuke of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Shawn LeDuke of Florida; a step-son, Kenneth Auz of Lone Rock, Wis.; step-daughter, Kimberly and husband, Dustin Hiesel of Richland Center, Wis.; two sisters, Beverly and husband, David Sweet of Seekonk, Mass., and Phyllis and husband, Ed Sheffington of Old Town, Maine; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood, with the Rev. Jeff Ernstmeyer officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Viewing and visitation is Monday, 4-8 p.m., at Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood.
