OBERLIN -- Francis Krizek, 81, died Saturday (Jan. 20, 2007) at Decatur County Hospital.

He was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Jennings, Kan., to Frank and Anna Mae (Flata) Krizek. He grew up a farm in the Jennings area. He attended country school and graduated from Jennings High School.

He enlisted in the Marines and after his discharge worked as a truck driver and mechanic. He married Theresa Carrigan and they moved to Oberlin.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anne Mae Krizek; brother, Harry Krizek and sister, Florence Graves.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Oberlin; son, John and wife, Jennifer of Las Cruces, NM.; daughter, Jolyna Behrens and husband, Stephen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Galen and wife, Joyce of Pueblo, Colo., Rodger and wife, Corky of McCook; three sisters, Goldie Moore of Loveland, Colo., Alena Scott of Oberlin and Lelia Benton and husband, Jack of Oberlin; and two grandchildren.

Services were today at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin, with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating.

A vigil service is today at 7 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin. There is no visitation, his body was cremated.

Memorials may be given to the church in Oberlin or Benincasa Hospitality House of Garden City, Kan.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
